Paul and Jack were murdered by their abusive father. Why had the family courts granted him contact?

I cannot actually imagine anything more chilling as a mother, than being court ordered to hand your children over to a person who you don’t trust and who you think may actually do them harm.

I don't know OP. Its mind-boggling. It comes from the belief that it is the childrens'rivht and in their best interest to have a relationship with both parents. Whoever came up with that idea clearly hadn't experienced the damage abusive and neglectful parents can cause. This should never have happened. So sad.

Because the family courts don't listen to the evidence. They don't take the time to understand the manipulative, aggressive, controlling and vengeful nature of some men, and frankly they don't care.

There is nothing else to be said.

These poor, poor boys and their mother. Social workers and courts never listen when family members are abusive, not just parents but grandparents too.
When I was admitted to hospital suddenly I needed someone to care for my children and social workers placed them with my estranged mother who abused me physically and emotionally throughout my life and was only offering to have my children to hold power over me and get access to their DLA money it seems as long as someone is related to the children, that overrides any safeguarding concerns and it’s the children and the kind loving parent who suffers in the end as this story shows.

Just read the article and stranded there.
How can the courts say it is in the best interest of the children to meet with their violent and crazy father?
I cannot fathom it.

Yes. It's state sanctioned abuse. Appalling. It has to stop.
