To ask for opinions (and possibly encouragement) on going a trip alone/ travelling alone

I really want to go away next March somewhere but for various reasons and commitments, my friends aren’t free. Partner tied up with work at that time.
I went away alone once in my 30’s and it was fine but somehow feel nervous about it at the moment.
I’d be flying somewhere maybe France then getting a train, spending a few days somewhere and doing the same in reverse.
It’s just the fact of being a solo traveller and the thought of something going wrong eg if you weren’t feeling well or something it’s better to have someone with you?
I know I’m likely overthinking this.
Can anyone who travels solo give me some encouragement?
Thanks!

This year I've been to Spain twice and Poland twice. Next week I'm going to Scotland by myself.
I've been doing this for decades
I also go away with Dh and friends.
Biggest tip is to be happy in your own company. The biggest advantage is that you don't ha e to compromise with anyone..
There's no disadvantages as fares I'm concerned!

Take paracetamol, ibuprofen and Imodium with you.

Yy to this. On a recent holiday I had to send DH out for immodium at midnight...

Though wherever the holiday, whatever I pack, I always seem to need a pharmacy for something!

Take paracetamol, ibuprofen and Imodium with you.

This is a good point.

I travel alone either for work or holidays relatively regularly. I always have a small pharmacy's worth of medication with me: paracetamol, ibuprofen, immodium, decongestant, ant-acids, antihistamines, antihistamine cream etc etc. Just saves any worrying to know it's all packed and available to me immediately.

Thanks for all the positive vibes and advice!
It’s very reassuring and I need to take the plunge!
Happy to hear more stories of great solo trips!

I took a road trip from Cincinnati to Toronto alone last month, 450-ish miles each way. I stopped in Detroit and spent some time walking around, visited a couple museums. Walked around Windsor, and then spent a week in Toronto. I loved being able to do whatever I wanted, to stop and visit wherever I wanted. It was great.

I don't know how old you are but join solo women travelling over 50+ group on fb. Some are inspiring!
