To hope to find a king size coverless duvet that will fit in 7kg washing machine?

Have you got one of the above that will fit in a 7kg washing machine? Ideally 10.5 tog or I am wondering if a lesser tog would fit then to get two and put one on top of the other but think it may slide off?

Any ideas please?

We have two. Just cheap ones from Amazon I have washed them both today and tumbled them. We have one each on the bed. They are not heavy at all and easily fit them both in the machine together. Not 10.5 tog tho, that would be Hella hot. These are probably 4

We fold them in half like a sleeping bag in winter and have them flat in summet

@Doggymummar So do you have two singles then, one each? Not sure that tog would be warm enough for me lol

My night owl coverless duvet 10.5 tog kingsize fits in my small washing machine. I have to stuff it in but it fits and washes just fine.

@Gettingbysomehow That sounds hopeful, is your machine 7kg? As long as I could shut the door it will be fine although it probably wont wash as well as it should. Does it get wet all the way through please?

What is a coverless duvet? Just a load of feathers?

Spundown duvets are designed to go in domestic washers.

They are often microfibre so bad for the environment - not all are but most are synthetic and too sweaty for my liking, plus the cats aren’t keen!

But some people love them.

I've just googled them and they appear to be what we used to call eiderdowns, back in the days before duvets (days I remember because I am old). People stopped using them because keeping them clean was a faff compared with duvets as you had to wash the whole thing instead of just a cover. Or, more likely, they ended up being not as clean as they should, because washing them was onerous so it didn't happen very often. How funny that they're back.

@superstar63 You are very likely to refuce the lifespan of your machine if you regularly overload it. Once in a while you’ll get away with it but regularly doing it would be very expensive. And a coverless duvet would presumably be regularly washed.

Either buy a bigger capacity machine or accept these won’t fit. Your machine should only be two thirds full, so cramming it in isn’t a good idea. Don’t get me wrong, I emergency washed a superking duvet in ours (9kg) but I wouldn’t make a habit of it.
