Tried paramount. It's not for me. Any suggestions?

Reading a book? Visits to the library?

Don't replace it with anything. There's lots freely available online (only BBC iPlayer needs TV licence, if you haven't got that.)

Jigsawpuzzled · 28/09/2024 15:08

We stopped netflix and may cancel prime as if we watch paid tv now it's always disney. I found the range seems to have reduced significantly and we like films but most of them are rubbish. We've increased our use of 4 and iplayer but also itvx has been a good recent find for us.

@DreamW3aver , I often find blunt actually just means rude. Why be mean and make someone who's just sat at home of a weekend asking a perfectly innocent question feel a bit shit, there's just no need. I never understand why if a thread doesn't interest someone, they don't scroll on and find one that does, why the need to put someone down?

I would guess this wasn’t really about the thread not interesting them, but more making the point (albeit rudely, yes) that some more information would make a huge difference to how much people can help. The original post really needs a bit more info. Canceling Netflix due to cost - we’ll try and think of lower cost options. Canceling because of the programme choices? Knowing what the op’s viewing preferences are would be a big help! Etc.

How the fuck are we supposed to know?

What do you like watching? What don't you like? Why is Netflix not for you? Why is Paramount + not for you? What services do you have?

I've stopped eating chicken. Tried fish. Not for me. Any suggestions?

Lol you know you don’t have to comment.

Lemonadeand · 28/09/2024 15:21

Disney plus is good. Recommend Shogun and Only Murders in the Building.

The question as it stands with zero context doesn't need to be asked because the answer could be literally any other streaming service and I'm sure @coodawoodashooda doesn't need to be told what they are. I read @MasterBeth s post as pointing that out.

MiddleagedBeachbum · 28/09/2024 15:27

I use lookmovie2.to - has everything, literally everything!

And put like this it is a perfectly polite and reasonably response, you were able to articulate without the need to be snarky.

Hankunamatata · 28/09/2024 15:33

I have them all and use disney plus the most

lindsaybob · 28/09/2024 15:36

Disney+ definitely has the broadest choice, imo. I think Apple TV has the best quality original shows, but nowhere near the same quantity of content.

Calm doon

I recently took the Disney + deal that's just expired. There's quite a bit I've found on there so far that I'll enjoy: Harrow, The Glades, The Finder, Tracker, Perception, Death & other Details, White Collar, Burn Notice. If any of those sound appealing perhaps give Disney + a shot.

Prior to this I took a break from paid TV for the summer and found shows to keep me going on U (UKTV play), BBC & ITV streaming as well as freevee on amazon.

Blunt maybe but she's not wrong 😂

The thing is, you can just roll your eyes and get on with your life. No need to post even. It's just a bit pathetic.

Actually it’s does need to be asked as there is varying content on most platforms, some better than others for certain genres. Whilst it was blunt and swearily (new word?) asked it’s still info that could lead to the right choice of paramount was not a good choice for them either.

verabarbleen · 28/09/2024 17:51

Discovery plus is good if you like documentaries 🙂

I'll try horse too. Thanks for the recommendation; easier to digest than some of these posts.

Pluto tv is free, so I've just been putting that on for background watching. The ads seem less annoying than when I was paying for the Now tv basic package a few months ago.

Yamantau · 28/09/2024 19:53

@coodawoodashooda i prefer dvd box sets over streaming as more extras etc that or youtube or bbc iplayer etc

coodawoodashooda · 28/09/2024 19:55

I could never cancel Netflix. There's always new things to watch. Just started Monsters, Lyle and Erik Menendez story.
