Because I have had an absolutely horrific time in peri and I really think this might be it, it might be over. I do oestrogel every day, utrogestan X2 for 14 days, for years I've had crashingly horrible bleeds, I'm on the gynae waiting list as everything else I've tried including this hrt for two years has failed and I've got a bunch of fibroids so need a hysterectomy. BUT... this month ... NOTHING. And here I am on day 27. Is this finally it? I am 53. I think it might be. Omg I can get my life back.

It’s the best.

It really is. I am giddy as a kitten at the mere thought.

I have also hated peri and am hoping for a much happier menopause, can't wait. I can feel your giddy kitten joy, it's uplifting. 😀

Well don’t get too excited as I have had lots of breaks from periods, only to have them restart again. I THINK I am done now, but I am still a hot sweaty, knackered, grumpy mess so …

Hope this is it for you though and you have a better time of it.

Don’t get too excited. I’m 7 years post menopause and have been trying to push through it but finally gave in and started HRT 2 months ago. Difference is I had no symptoms really until my periods stopped and they’ve gotten worse and worse as the years go on. Finally hit rock bottom 2 months ago .

I was thinking of starting a similar thread, or throwing a party!

However I am 49 weeks no period, not to piss on your chips but a whole year is the technical definition of menopause. Over the last few months my other symptoms have improved massively. But everyone is different, I have fingers crossed for you that this is the start of a fabulous post period life!

If you're on cyclical HRT, which it sounds like you are, you'll always have a withdrawal bleed.

I'd chat to your GP about switching to a continuous regime. Or consider the coil as that can stop bleeds.

BigButtons · 28/09/2024 08:03

Surely the bleeds are withdrawal bleeds not actual periods?
the bleeds I am having on a similar routine to you are getting lighter and lighter but this isn’t my own body- having a cycle is caused by the hormones I am taking.
