Is that not right?!

If a car seat was so flimsy as to be liable to damage by the car being jacked up, it'd be a bit useless in an accident!

I think the OP posted on insufficient caffeineBrew

Or going over a speed bump

How are you changing the tyre? Flipping it over like a bike?

😂

Ttcagainnow · 26/09/2024 09:23

Round here they let us stay in the car, the kids love it!

What a bizarre thought process. If you're on the hard shoulder of the motorway and there is a child in it, then is take the child out and move them to safety.

Wtf has the car seat got to do with changing a tyre? Why not go the whole hog and rip out the other seats as well.

dildeewana · 26/09/2024 09:39

The vehicle will only be jacked up enough the lift the tyre off the ground for removal. So no difference in height / angle than mounting a curb really. Unless the vehicle is having 4 changed and being lifted on a ramp.. then I would probably remove the child from the car seat but not the seat itself.

I do despair at the lack of intelligence you find online.

Ok I stand corrected! I thought it may damage the car seat by the movement of the car to fit the tyre

😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 how?!

Does your car never move?

Op I hope you haven't said this out loud? If it was my family you'd never live it down.
We'll put it down to Baby Brain or PFB Syndrome!

You do realise that cars move anyway don't you?

It is kind of in the nature of their purpose

@Iserbml We all say silly things sometimes. I could be wrong, but I’m guessing that you have just had your first baby and are worrying about every little thing. If that’s the case it’s pretty normal to worry about all sorts of things in the beginning.

And not to mean anything badly about it but your post gave me a really good laugh. Thx 😄

Yes, at the professional tyre centre round here they prefer you to stay in the car so you can move it out of the bay after the tyres are changed. But if I was changing a tyre myself, I'd get everyone out of the car first.

They’re also in real life too 🤪

MabelMaybe · 26/09/2024 11:08

If you're on a roadside, it's in your interest to keep small person in their seat, within the car. From experience at a garage, they're thrilled when one side of the car rises up and there's a mechanic with a jack waving at them.

No, but I pull the wipers off whenever I change a wheel - just in case...
