Yesterday I had a call from a friend who works at a supermarket - a small one.
She is very upset about the store manager’s lack of concern about security. Ten days ago the store had a break in and stole thousands of pounds of cigarettes and rolling tobacco. As the shutter to the kiosk broke down about 2 months ago. No repair has been done. Break in was on the cards. Manager never chased the repair up.
As most of the drawers were damaged in the break in the cigs are stored in crates in the kiosk. This is causing staff to get backaches as need to go through the case of Benson and Hedges to find the Sky blue kingsize. Plus the crates are not secure with thousands of pounds on show. Also because the floor area of the kiosk is limited now due to crates of cigarettes on the floor, increased risk of tripping and injury.
Would environmental health or other organisations be interested in this case?
