I wondered if anyone else gets this?

I'm not asking for mental health advice thank you; I just find as they get older the birthdays can make me feel sad.

They do grow up very quickly 💔

I don't feel low. I always think of their birth on birthdays. I have to keep myself in check to remember that birthdays are about them, not me. My eldest recently turned 20 and I spent the day of, and the day previous to, her birthday thinking 20y ago today I was...

I feel wistful though. Not sad. What makes you feel sad OP?

No i feel really happy for them. I feel happy we've completed another year safely and in one piece! I hated the young toddler years though-I found them boring, back-breakingly exhausting and hellish. I find I love each year of my DS growing more as he's great company. I don't feel wistful as I'd hate to go back to those young years.

I'm not sure. I find the pressure of organizing any kind of party super stressful though.

It means that you've been a great mum to them for another year ❤ and that they are developing in a healthy and happy way, like they're supposed to. It's a sign youve done a great job x
