Two Items, one is £10 and the other is £5. I’d happily let them both go for £10.

Have they really just increased the bid by TEN PENCE?

Can you counter offer £12.59?

ItsTheGAGGGGGGGG · 13/09/2024 18:39

Offer 9.90 and say that’s your final offer😂😂😂😂 people are ridiculous on there! Just pay the tenner ffs

Cherrysoup · 13/09/2024 18:43

That would drive me a little crazy.

Someone offered me £2.50 for a £3 item this week. I’ve accepted most offers on the site but so many people have then not paid that I decided to message the buyer to say I accept but are they going to pay as I’ve had lots of people offer then not pay. Radio silence then it sold on eBay for £5.

evtheria · 13/09/2024 18:48

Hahaha I'd go back to my original price just out of contrariness.

FlangeBoil · 13/09/2024 18:51

I was selling something for £4 and someone offered me £3.99 saying that with postage that's all they had. A penny.

Woahtherehoney · 13/09/2024 19:05

Some of the offers have been so cheeky on there! Put a pair of my DP’s brand new unworn shoes on there that retail for nearly £100. I put them on there for £30 - within minutes I’d had an offer for £18! Then someone messaged offering £22 saying that’s all they could pay and because of that I should sell them to them for £22 as they’re a nice person. Someone bought them for full price luckily!

YeahWellWhyNot · 13/09/2024 19:06

This doesn't suprise me. I buy and sell on vinted and some people are crackers. I listed some kids Christmas pjs last year which my son had outgrown. They had been worn just over the Christmas period. The person who was interested sent endless messages that they wanted absolute confirmation there were no bobbles on any part of the clothing, extra photos needed and threats they'd return them if there were any bobbles when they arrived. They were from m&S and I'd put them on for £1. No I didn't sell them to her 😂

YeahWellWhyNot · 13/09/2024 19:08

Oh and a toy I listed someone was interested in and offered £4 instead of £8 - it was worth about £20. When someone bought it seconds later she sent me angry messages saying how evil I was that I'd gone around her and 'its like that is it?' oh and her son would now not have a birthday present 🫢

hildabaker · 13/09/2024 19:09

I once declined a very low offer on an item on Vinted, and her MUM proceeded to message me, telling me I needed to sell them to her daughter because her daughter was a student and didn't have much money. For all she knew, I could have been a student too.

RoseAylingEllisFanClub · 13/09/2024 19:10

Not dissimilar to one I had last night . . . Wondering if it’s the same buyer!! Very similar price range and haggling MO.

Holidays4Ever · 13/09/2024 19:10

It’s COL innit.😂

PrimalLass · 13/09/2024 19:11

Vinted should change it so that accepted offers are binding.

PrimalLass · 13/09/2024 19:13

I had a battle with a buyer over a pair of shoes. Standard Clarks sizing. They insisted over and over that they were at least 1.5 sizes smaller.

They wouldn't have fitted my feet if they had been.

NigelHarmansNewWife · 13/09/2024 19:18

PrimalLass · 13/09/2024 19:11

Vinted should change it so that accepted offers are binding.

That would only work if payment was then automatically taken. eBay can do it though. Very many of Vinted's processes are crap though.

MamaLazerou · 13/09/2024 19:27

I had a monsoon child’s skirt up on Vinted up for 3.50 - they offered 2.50. I countered with £3 which they accepted. They then sent a message saying:

Thank you, please make sure there is no stains/defects before sending out as I had a few bad experiences recently.

Alarm bells started to ring…

I provide multiple pictures of items and always highlight any issues with the items and then double check the item before posting. I also tend to price items down to begin with and say their condition is worse than it is.

I then looked at their reviews: they were several recent negative ones calling them a scammer. Given the skirt was in the region of 5 years old and this buyer had been demanding refunds for bobbles and such I told them I wanted to cancel the order which they agreed to.

I now review people’s reviews before even entering into any kind of offer/ counter offer situation- some people are just unbelievable in their expectations for items costing a few quid. Of course items should be accurately described which I always strive to do.

herecomesthesondodedoodoo · 13/09/2024 19:34

I had someone leave me negative feedback because the stitching on a beautiful, embroidered, barely worn, monsoon jumper, they got for £5, was the 'wrong shade of gold'. And it had some fluff on.

TokyoSushi · 13/09/2024 19:45

Oh please go to £9.90!!

I actually really enjoy Vinted fuckwittery!

Dreamerinme · 13/09/2024 19:54

I listed a brand new pair of Nike trainers with box for £30 and very quickly I had an offer for £6!

While I was contemplating the cheek of it they were bought by someone else literally within half an hour later so I never got the chance to decline the offer.

The frequent terrible photos is what gets me on Vinted- some are so bad I think you can’t seriously even want to sell the item.

Silverbook · 14/09/2024 08:07

Hurrah!

This is great 😆 Along with people who throw their item across the room and take a photo of it in a crumpled heap for their listing! People are so strange on Vinted .

DiddyRa · 14/09/2024 08:35

I put a dress on for 1.50 and someone offered a quid. Barely worth the effort to
stick in a bag and send 🙄

So many people just want something for nothing. I don't sell for less than £3 now. It's not worth anyone's time and effort. Remember you have to pay for packing and then the time taken to find somewhere to post it. Then there's the people asking why something they bought 5 hours ago at 1am hasn't been posted yet.

joolsella · 14/09/2024 12:22

I was recently selling some kids beach /swim shoes for £3

I had loads of photos of them on the site . They're used but very good condition...they were used one holiday then kid grew out of them

Someone messaged and asked if the shoes had any signs of wear

🤪
