To be worried my pregnancy symptoms have lessened the last couple of days?

Posting for traffic, I am almost ten weeks and have had six previous pregnancies that didn't work out so naturally I am cautious, but I've noticed me boobs are less sore the last couple of days and I also am less tired and metallic taste in my mouth has lessened.

Is this normal for symptoms to subside for a couple of days at 9 weeks?

Has this happened to anyone? I have a scan Tuesday but of course am worried for the next few days.

can you get a private scan earlier like this afternoon or tomorrow to put your mind at ease before tuesday?

TheShellBeach · 13/09/2024 10:59

It's normal for symptoms to come and go in early pregnancy, but I understand why you're worried.
I hope everything is okay.
At what stage did you lose your other pregnancies?

Tdcp · 13/09/2024 10:59

I had a major drop in symptoms at 9 weeks for 3 days then everything came back with a vengeance, my boobs haven't been sore since though. I would give it a couple of days but if you're worried you can always call the early pregnancy unit if you have one?

Totally normal, the placenta takes over around the 9-10wk mark. When I was pregnant with DD I had a similar panic but my midwife reassured me it’s nothing to worry about.

Sending you some hugs. I know how hard it is when you have experienced previous difficulties.
But it is really normal for symptoms to come and go.
Are you under the EPU or similar because of you previous losses? Mine alongside the miscarriage clinic took me in regularly for reassurance scans when I needed them until I was transfer to consultant care. Could you speak to them and ask?

Thank you all. I'm annoyingly on holiday returning tomorrow late night.

I already have a scan booked for Tuesday and work commitments etc have to wait for that, also the fertility clinic I'm linked to insist on me going for their scans and I don't want to have more than one a week u see guidance so I will wait until then.

All my other losses have been 9 months eels or earlier which is making it worse!

So right now is the longest time I've been pregnant if the scan Tuesday goes well, adding an extra layer of anxiety. Someone mentioning the placenta is helpful I didn't know this was the case.

Yes, you're right at the time in your pregnancy when the placenta starts to take over.

This is also why most women find that nausea and vomiting tend to go away at about this time.

Chocolateorange22 · 13/09/2024 12:19

Bless you, try to distract yourself as much as possible. It's incredibly hard to not let your mind wander. With my losses the symptoms did start waning but much earlier than you are experiencing. I also did have a very tough early pregnancy with my first full pregnancy. Full blown vomiting you name it. However my second full pregnancy I had absolutely no symptoms with him. I booked an early scan with him because I thought I was losing him. Out of all four pregnancies (including two losses) the first trimester was the easiest with him.

Basically it's hard to tell, try and keep the faith until you know more. Sending best wishes.

I'm now panicking more I stupidly just went on a speedboat. I didn't even think about it until it got a bit bumpy then googled and now even more worried 😢

Maybe I'm just not cut out for this.

OP posts:
TheShellBeach · 13/09/2024 14:30

Why are you worried about the speedboat?
Many women ride horses when pregnant.

notaurewhatusername · 13/09/2024 14:34

@TheShellBeach I googled and it said not to

@TheShellBeach I googled and it said not to

Only because of the risk of accidents, not because of the actual boating experience.

notaurewhatusername · 13/09/2024 14:50

@TheShellBeach oh! That makes me feel better then - there were no accidents 😂

O though it was because of the bumps as it was only when it started bumping I had the feeling I should have thought about this before and then started googling

Just think of Zara Tindall showjumping when she was pregnant.

I doubt if there's anything bumpier than that.
