To keep stained/heavily worn clothes for next child?

Did you keep everything, or just things in decent condition? I'm thinking it makes no sense to buy new clothes for nursery when they're just going to get destroyed again.

I throw anything that was heavily stained but if had like a mark from tomato sauce I'd use it for nursery. I learnt the first time around not to send dc in good clothes to nursery!

I’ve never had clothes get so badly stained or damaged at nursery as it says above. For arts and painting we had to bring art ponchos and the teachers used those to protect clothing. To answer the question- even for donation they don’t accept stained etc clothing, why would I treat my kid any less?

Having your own stains is quite different from someone else's stains! So wasteful for the planet and your children's future to be so uptight

Lots of donated clothing gets recycled rather than reused so I still donate worn and stained clothing.
Normally I separate stuff into rags and reuse and tell them what's for the rag / recycling bin.

I used to take the same logic. I didn't mind my kids wearing their own stains but I wouldn't keep anything stained to pass down.
As others have said little kids clothing can be brought fairly cheaply it seems mean not to buy some new stuff for a second child
