I’m moving back home to Blighty after a disastrous marriage which required me to live abroad.

I’m just getting the ball rolling re applying for jobs. I stil have a lot of loose ends to tie up here. The to do list is endless - furniture removal, dog transport, new house search, divorce proceedings etc.

I deal with anxiety by ticking stuff off the list. Having a job to come back to would make me feel so much less stressed. I need some security.

Realistically I can see myself all set up in the UK in 2 months/2.5 months.

Is now too early to apply? It would be for mid-level corporate job.

Mine's always been dictated by notice period, latest was 3 months gap. I'd start applying now, in your situation. Recruitment and interview processes can take weeks to months.

Amazing. I had calculated 4 weeks to interview and then the company expecting you start writhing 4-6 weeks.

Im so relieved my timelines appear to work. Thanks!

Start applying now, if you are going through agencies, just explain your relocation situation and they'll know if their client needs a quick start or can wait.

They will ask you when you are available to start. I started my last job 10 weeks after the offer which included 8 weeks notice + two weeks holiday.

Depends on what you do, but most employers will wait for notice period. My last two jobs both had 3 months notice period.

start now.

People are looking for a job for a year these days unless you are accountant or some sort of specialist in a field that every company have. My friend with years and years of experience is looking for a role now and it has been 6 months.
