To think it is rude that my friend still hasn't read my message

I sent my friend a message 5 weeks ago and she still hasn't read it, yet I can see that she is online.
It was just a general chit chat message but I can see that she hasn't even opened it. There aren't any issues between us that I'm aware of.
AIBU to find this pretty disrespectful?

How do you know she hasn’t turned read receipts off?? She could have read it but you still see 2 grey ticks.

Or maybe she’s left it so long she has to scroll down really far to get to your message and so never sees it.

Just send a new message

Maybe she saw it was there and then things have happened and now the message has scrolled too high.

I am currently dealing with a lot of personal things. Some time around the end of this month I will catch up with all the people who might have been in touch. My friends won't ditch me. Anyone who really cares for me will ask around mutual friends, or phone me.
Anyone who thinks I'm rude or disrespectful wouldn't really be a friend.

Just because she's "online" doesn't mean something awful hasn't happened. Give her a ring
