Littering parents

At sports day before the summer holidays, I witnessed a mum and dad of a child in my Dds class drop Greggs wrappers on the school playing field. I was going to say something at the time but they are quite intimidating and then they walked off laughing, leaving their wrappers/coffee cups there.

today, I have seen them leaning out their car and leaving another coffee cup on the pavement next to the school and the other day I saw them drop something else at pickup in the playground. Would you say something to them or inform school?

What would you expect the school to do?
You've already said that these people are intimidating. Do you expect a member of staff to put themselves in danger by confronting them?

Yes tell school.. Just don't name them.. Say you are concerned people are littering in school grounds and it looks unsightly.. Bet they pop a message on the weekly news letter.... Our school mentioned people smoking /dogs inside the gates/bad parking.. All adds to the reputation of the school in a negative way of left...

They are awful people, but there's nothing you can really do. Unless you video them dropping the litter and anonymously send it to the council.

I wouldnt do either.

I agree with
@Spenditlikebeckham
I think you should raise littering as an issue with the school.

I really feel anything the school can do to spread the anti- littering message to children can only be a good thing. Especially when parents like those you describe OP are sending out such a negative view of the importance of the environment we live in.

I would tell the school but not mention their names. Ask them to send an email around to remind parents to set an example to their children by taking their litter home with them and to respect the environment etc.

I did this when I witnessed a parent aggressively swearing at the top of her voice to another driver in a road rage incident near the school in front of young children. The head teacher was horrified as it reflects badly on the school and she sent an email to all the parents immediately.
