To be frustrated with friends who consistently cancel plans last minute?

I have friends who frequently cancel plans at the last minute, often with vague excuses. It’s starting to feel disrespectful and inconsiderate. AIBU to expect people to stick to their commitments or at least give proper notice if they need to cancel?

After 2 attempts I'd just not bother tbh

Could be an issue with anxiety with them, could you gently point out that you're noticing a pattern and is there something you can do?

YANBU. I gave up on a friend like this, she constantly cancelled and didn't make new arrangements so I just let the friendship go.

Flakes. 2 strikes and they’re out!

Yeah I’d just stop bothering. Not worth the stress. If they contact you and say they haven’t seen you in a long time, either:
-tell them to plan something and let you know. Or
-say they keep cancelling, that’s why they haven’t seen you.

We gave up on a couple because of exactly this. We couldn’t be bothered with feeling like ‘B list’ friends so just let them go. Funnily enough, one of them contacted us after 18 months approximately 4 months ago. We just ignored it 🤷‍♀️
