Present ideas for 1st birthday

Hi all,

It will soon be my babies 1st birthday and I am wondering what to get her! I am a FTM so need ideas!!

I was thinking of getting her some indoor soft play toys, a ball pit with foam things she can climb on. They aren't cheap so I don't want to buy something that will just gather dust. Has anybody else bought their little ones these??

I don't want to get her little toys as we have a big family who I think will get her that so wanted to think of something that will last her a while...

Thank you xx

I bought dgd this Vtech walker. The interactive board on the front detaches so can be used as a separate toy.

The soft play toys sound like a good idea if that's the kind of thing she enjoys. I got my son an activity cube, a personalised story book and a baby balance bike. He's a bit scared of the bike at the moment but might play with it when he's bigger. He's not really interested in the book either but that's more something for him to look at when he's older. The activity cube was definitely the best present. He loves it and plays with it every day. I would recommend one if that's the sort of thing your daughter likes.

If you have a big family who are likely to want to get her things, then put your money into savings for her, or Premium Bonds.

Also, see if you can persuade Grandparents or others to buy something like a season's pass for a local farm or mini-zoo or something rather than actual 'stuff'.

Or, if you have a garden, what about getting them to club together to get something for garden toys.
