Putting 2yo in Adidas trainers

My DD (2) wears a little pair of Adidas with Ortholite to nursery and I am wondering if anyone has any information as to whether these are ok for their little developing feet?

I know obviously there are brands such as start rite etc which I am happy to get for her but at the moment we have these, and I like them, I just often find myself wondering if I am being irresponsible!

On non nursery days I am pretty mindful of her having as much time without shoes on as possible so she only really wears shoes when we are out and about actually walking somewhere - they always come off in the car and at home etc. but obviously on nursery days she is wearing them for longer periods of time.

My main concern is are these branded trainers ok for developing feet? The soles on the specific ones she wears are pretty wide, no huge taper at the foot arch and super flexible - they'll fold in half quite easily.

They are probably absolutely fine for now and it would be wasteful to get rid of tbem.
But I would look into barefoot shoes for when she is ready for her next size up :)

Probably won't damage her feet, but a bit of of a waste of money, for not fitted shoes, given she'll grow out of them very quickly!
(Although I also think Clarks and Startright are hideously overpriced... I always try and get them in the sales !)

Perfectly OK.

My little one wears Adidas trainers, he's almost 2 and like you I only pop them on if he's going to be walking somewhere, though I think they are absolutely fine

Absolutely fine. DS will be 2 in December and he only wears nike, adidas etc.

Watch Barefoot Brit on instagram. It’s changed my views entirely on what I’d be willing to put on my kids feet.

Do you know how to fit children's shoes? It's pretty easy and can be looked up on YouTube. As long as they fit properly - don't slip at the heel, have toe box space and enough room over the top of the foot, fit properly around the ankle etc, then I can't see a problem with it

My ds wore converse at 2 because they fit him well, he's never had a pair of kickers (and is 11 in a few weeks) because they are just the wrong shape for his feet

It's not the make that is important it's the fit

Adidas gazelle trainers were the only ones that would fit my son properly. They’re flexible and not rigid like cheaper shoes

I choose shoes for DD on the basis of the flexibility of the sole and the likelihood of her tripping over her own feet so she’s wearing nike. She doesn’t wear shoes at home but when she has to comfort is a priority.
