Would you have left or persevered?

Took my 5 yo DD to swimming lessons today for the first time and as soon as we got there she was screaming and crying, running outside. We got there early so I sat with her and showed her the pool to see if she changed her mind but she was still kicking, screaming, crying till she was bright red that she didn’t want to go in. I booked it as she normally enjoys the water and swimming whenever I’ve took her. She was all worked up and upset so we left. Would you have left or persevered?

Id have left. Leave it 6 months And try again re swimming

I'd have left. No point taking a screaming child to swim in lessons. Shes not going to learn to swim in that state and only ruin the session for all the other children. Just take her swimming and teach her to swim yourself.

Left

Will you can't force her to swim. I'd just take her family swimming more for now

Left - but might try again as early as next week if paid for a block of nonrefundable lessons - otherwise try in 6 months of so.

Left, then tried again the week after, and the week after that, and the week after that, etc. swimming is so important.
