For example;

"but surely that is the point, no?"

It just comes across as so bloody smarmy.

Feel free to kick me in the head for this, this is AIBU.

I'm too busy wiping the entire post from my memory to remember the details.

CantSleepWontSleep · 18/04/2008 19:42

I normally do it like you Doodle, but was humouring the other poster, no?

Psychomum5 · 18/04/2008 19:44

lol at the irony of complaining about speach patterns when you use the wrong 'there' in your thread title.....

captainmummy · 18/04/2008 19:51

Yes, no?

scottishmummy · 18/04/2008 19:53

irony of complaining about grammatical error's when you have spelling speach error

Bectheneck · 18/04/2008 19:55

It irritates me but it's not like I lose sleep over it more of a momentary shudder.

What's more irritating is people who use a grammatical or spelling error to take the piss out of someone they don't agree with.

But we're all agreed that anyone using 'babe' or 'hun' should be shot, yesno?

Psychomum5 · 18/04/2008 19:56

....I knew I would make a mistake but still just pressed 'post'....

am on the wine, can I be excused miss....!!

scottishmummy · 18/04/2008 19:56

awww the huns and babes are the stalwarts of MN

hecate · 18/04/2008 19:57

Irony of highlighting someone's spelling mistake when you have an apostrophe in the wrong place....

This is fun.

scottishmummy · 18/04/2008 19:57

Yes more wine and freedom of spaech i say

Psychomum5 · 18/04/2008 19:58

scottishmummy · 18/04/2008 19:58

aww no now what about me!

hecate · 18/04/2008 20:00

Psychomum5 · 18/04/2008 20:00

Bectheneck · 18/04/2008 20:01

Please take the piss out of me! Go on - I'll put in a spelling mistaek to make it easier!

scottishmummy · 18/04/2008 20:01

hokey cokey i dont do the pedant thing - find 'em too scarey.get performance anxiety

scottishmummy · 18/04/2008 20:02

i was trying to be smart arse clever, non

Wallace · 18/04/2008 20:06

Oh the iroony of correcting someone's misuse of an apostrophe when you have used four full stops in your ellipsis rather than three

Very good fun!

FreddysTeddy · 18/04/2008 20:06

Ah, but some of you weren't pedantic enough to spot the deliberate spelling error, no?

OP posts:
WigWamBam · 18/04/2008 20:11

Oh, the irony of correcting someone's iroony ...

We could go on all night

FreddysTeddy · 18/04/2008 20:12

PMSL WWB, tell me iroony was a deliberate typo

Psychomum5 · 18/04/2008 20:14
