As now I have to cook - best thing about nursery days is someone else feeding them!

Just give them a sandwich or picnic, you don't have to cook.

Tbskejue · 04/09/2024 18:49

Yep me too! Pasta is the go to with me.

Danikm151 · 04/09/2024 18:50

Nursery never gives them enough at teatime so mine always wanted food anyway- from about age 3. Before that no cooking needed 😂

Favour237 · 04/09/2024 19:20

But what do you eat? Surely you need to cook either way

NuffSaidSam · 04/09/2024 19:22

YANBU

I'd be giving them a light tea/picky bits though not a proper dinner. They've eaten properly at lunchtime.

JoanCollected · 04/09/2024 19:22

If they don’t eat it ask nursery if you can take it home for them to eat later?

SouthLondonMum22 · 04/09/2024 19:22

It’s rare for us but I always have a stash of toddler microwave meals just in case for times like that. 😂

cartwheelsandhandstands · 04/09/2024 19:23

No YANBU if an evening meal is part of the deal! I would be gutted haha

YouveGotAFastCar · 04/09/2024 19:24

How much does your nursery feed?

Our portions are rubbish, my son has always had breakfast at home before nursery breakfast and tea at home after nursery tea, from a year old.

gruffaloapplecrumble · 04/09/2024 19:30

They never seem to want much after nursery although I know some children who have full meals so I guess everyone is different, they’ve eaten a good dinner now though. They don’t tend to eat picnics to be honest.

Mine used to just have a sandwich and veg sticks or fruit or yogurt

FuzzyDiva · 04/09/2024 19:37

My youngest used to eat several helpings at nursery and still wanted to eat more at home.

LadyMonicaBaddingham · 04/09/2024 19:41

Soup and toast 'soldiers' always went down well when my two were small.

gruffaloapplecrumble · 04/09/2024 19:51

One is just a baby so hard to just stick whatever in front. She won’t sleep now either. Sigh.

DD has always eaten her meals backwards, she has a big breakfast, medium sized lunch and just picks at dinner so tends to have things like crumpets with scrambled eggs or stuff on toast.
