Can someone help me??

I’ve had to book a last minute flight to Spain tomorrow due to a poorly relative, just looked at my passport

It was issued in May 2015 ( less than ten years ago )
And it expires in June 2025 ( in 9 months )

Will this be ok to travel?

Yes. For Spain it’s valid for 10 years from issue date minus 3 months. So you’re all good

What do you mean minus 3 months hun? Xx

It's totally fine. It just needs to be valid for at least 3 months after the date you cross into Spain - so for you you'll need to renew your passport before march next year, but your trip shortly will be fine.

You need to make sure you have 3 months left on your passort when you travel. For EU countries your passport is only valid for 10 years from issue.

So you can travel to an EU country on that passort up until Feb 2025

You can enter into the EU on that passport until May 2025 as it needs to be under 10 years old on the date of entry. It needs 3 months remaining when leaving the EU which you will have as it expires in June 2025

This is incorrect. The 3 months remaining is calculated from the printed expiry date. The only time the 10 year rule is relevant is for entry into the EU as it needs to be under 10 years old on that date.

The 2 rules are independent of each other and the 3 months is not deducted from the 10 years you calculated.
