To not want black jelly babies in my pack?

Indith · 18/04/2008 15:49

It just creates far too big a dilema! Black jelly babies are horrible, they just are. But if I don't eat them then I will have a load of black minging babies left and end up eating them anyway as you can't throw good sweets away, thus ending a jelly baby binge on a yucky taste. But if I eat them all first then by the time I get to the good ones I've eaten too much sugar and sickly stuff and the nice ones don't quite give the same satisfying jelly baby sweet sugar hit.

Perhaps I ponder this too much

Should I switch to haribo instead? But which kind? If star mix then that bring up the egg dilema, and sour mix just gets too sugary and sour......

Yes I'm bored, yes I have essays to write, yes I want something to do other than bite my finger nails, I have to have nice nails by the time I get married!

I am much nicer than a Haribo egg . A bit bigger as well.

Egg · 18/04/2008 16:03

Squonk I had a similar arrangement with my best friend when we were about 12 with cheesecake instead. I loved biscuity bit and she loved the cheesy bit, so we always shared.

Indith · 18/04/2008 16:03

I'm sure you are Egg They are horrible though, all squishy fake marshmallow.

OP posts:
Egg · 18/04/2008 16:04

Indith I am not really "unsquishy" myself.

CeilingCat · 18/04/2008 16:05

Hmmm well officially neither do I Cali. I suppose I could just carry on with my existing routine of taking it out while huffing and sighing and glaring at you for 15 minutes.

Indith · 18/04/2008 16:06

lol, squishy people are fine, they give good hugs. Squishy sweets are not, unless they are proper marshmallows ready to be toasted.

Oh dear ds is having a fight with the duplo.

I see your dilemma
Why not eat them every few sweets, and then reward yourself with your favourite after having a nasty black one?
In fact, when you do, eat them two at a time - that can't be twice as bad as having one, twice.

Indith · 18/04/2008 16:08

Ah the ever reasonable polarbear tot he rescue (missed you on Monday! Stupid work)

Had a tin of cadbury heroes last Xmas which were 50% Dreams. Only ds1 likes them so he was +++++happy!! He as no taste, they are Yuk with a capital Y!!!!!

shouldbeworking · 18/04/2008 16:42

You have my sympathy Indith re the duplo in the video.....My ds1 posted toast into ours complete with butter and jam.

kittywise · 18/04/2008 16:44

black are my fav. I hate the white, yellow and green ones!

cornsilk · 18/04/2008 16:48

Only the pink ones are nice. The rest are foul. Jelly beans are the best.

Indith · 18/04/2008 16:48

Lol thankfully we have yet to have toast posted in, it gets eaten far too quickly!

I hate getting tubs of heroes and stuff, I'm not a fan of most of them so dp sits there and scoffs the lot, yet also insists on having his fair share of the few ones I actually like!

OP posts:
hercules1 · 18/04/2008 16:51

Totally unreasonable. The black ones are the best.

SmoothandWilkie · 18/04/2008 16:54

Indith I am seriously concerned. YABVVVVVU.

Jelly babies should be favourite in the following order:

Black
Red
Orange
Pink (bit minging but sometimes in the new packs)
Yellow
Green

I say set up a jelly baby swap shop...

Blandmum · 18/04/2008 16:56

Indith.

Come live with me and be my love!

We can divide up the bag. I'll have the black ones and you can have the rest

kid · 18/04/2008 16:56

SmoothandWilkie - I agree with your ranking.
My kids don't get a look in with black or red jellys, I scoff the lot!

StealthPolarBear · 18/04/2008 17:06

urgh orange ones
well i don't like jelly babies at all, but wine gums, smarties etc
dh gets them, whether he wants them or not

ellideb · 18/04/2008 17:25

YABVVU!

Whats the matter with you??? Everyone knows the black ones are the best, closely followed by red and green being the least tasty. uch and orange.

But I hate jelly babies anyway and I'm just thinking about other coloured sweets such as wine gums, fruit pastilles, boiled sweets, jelly beans etc

hifi · 18/04/2008 17:28

dd knows by law she has to hand over black jellie beans, haribo eggs and purple jelly beans to mummy, she sorts them before eating and wouldnt dare eat them. she also knows you eat the head first then legs then shove body in.

Black and green are the BEST.
My Mum, when offered any kind of sweet will root around in the packet and pick out the red ones. She always asked what our favourite colour is, and because it's not red, she thinks that gives her dibs on all of them.
They're ALL good. I want to taste all of them! Just take what you happen to pick up like a normal person!
