Anti-social neighbours

Our lovely neighbour had to move away and I am having real problems with my new neighbours.
They are different to us in expected ways and some of it I try to overlook. However, they are extremely noisy in this terraced row. Mother screams at her children constantly and seems unable to communicate in any other way. The children scream to a worrying degree without any attempt at comforting or consoling. They are doing the house up with drilling, hammering etc., no advance notice and I often can't think straight. We both work part time from home. I am trying to be tolerant and understanding but my patience is fraying. The other neighbours are still lovely and I spoke to a neighbour who lives on the other side in the row and she is also concerned about the children. I am seriously thinking of moving if this continues. My partner is less concerned as he is partly deaf and he's very good at switching off. I am angry with them next door and angry with myself.

They are allowed to make DIY type noise within certain hours. Did you decorate do diy/ get people in when you moved into your home ? I think its pretty normal to.

With the children how do you knlw sgew mkt trying . My grandson screams abd guys etc due to special needs . No matter how much you try to comfort hom try to maje hi. Feel better it won't change anything. He just needs to calm down within his own time.

I’m sorry, noisy neighbours are the worst. Their intentions almost don’t matter. I was so on edge with ours, when will it start up, I couldn’t even enjoy the peace

it’s difficult to know what to do. How old are the children? Will they grow out of screaming soon ish?

Thanks for the feedback and comments. Just to say the noise isn't a bit of DIY- it is full scale industial drilling with pneumatic drills and rubble removing and other power tools being used and well as wall demolishing, as far as I can tell. Some new plumbing and tiling today, I believe from overhearing a conversation. We are having to work elsewhere today. The family came back last night and the children screaming started again at 7 am. The neighbour at the other side made some representation to the family last night. I couldn't hear words but the tone was enough. (I am not deliberatley listening in- the walls are so thin, you can often hear conversations.) I think we might move.
