Feel like a complete idiot, please make me feel better

I booked theatre tickets with my sister in August 2023 for January 2025.
I planned to take a holiday in January so booked the annual leave and then my colleague asked me if she could have that week so I moved it a week and then booked my holiday.
I just realised that I'm on holiday when we are supposed to be going to the theatre. The theatre is the Saturday night and my flight back isn't until Tuesday lunchtime.
My sister is going to be so angry with me and I feel like a complete idiot.

I booked tickets with ATG forgetting that I’m going to be away. I emailed them and they changed easily, I think they was a small fee but it definitely wasn’t much. Do this well in advance though while tickets for other dates are still available.
Check dates and check with your sister and crack on.

What's the email please? Thank you

Contact the theatre and explain and hopefully they can change the dates for you, if not find someone else who could go along with your sister and donate the ticket to them. Another sibling or family member or contact one of her friends or partner?

I am somewhat bemused that you willingly spend any time at all with someone who obviously terrifies you!

Seriously, what's the big deal? Isn't there anyone else that would use your theatre ticket?

I booked a trip away with my friends on my son's 13 th birthday ! 🙈..

To be fair I booked it 9 mothe before and just complete my forgot his birthday existed in that month 🤷‍♀️.. these things happen

I've also found ATG to be helpful. I booked two tickets for my son and his girlfriend to go to a gig, but the seats weren't together as there were hardly any available. They released more tickets a couple of weeks later, and they happily changed the tickets for me, so they could be together.

You fucked up. It happens.

Why would your sister be so cross if this isn't a common occurrence? I can't imagine being furious with someone double booking unless they did this sort of thing constantly. Is she just not a very nice person?

@Hernamewaslola22
sorry email was not the exact word but the closest 🙂
go to help page on their website, then to bookings, then to exchange and they explain the process and have an exchange form for you to fill in and submit.
Mine came back pretty quickly- less than a week.
