AIBU to wonder if it's possible to be infected twice in a month?

I tested positive for Covid on 22nd August, having started with symptoms on 19th or possibly before. I caught the infection from extended family who also tested positive. My symptoms lasted about a week. My household didn't test but all had the same symptoms, one of them tested after 5/6 days with a negative result. Now 12+ days after my symptoms started, I have Covid symptoms again (as do my extended family) and although I'm testing negative currently, a member of my household just tested positive.

Am I being unreasonable to think it's possible to catch two different strains of Covid within 20 days?

I know someone who had it twice in 3 weeks. I don't know if it's a new infection or the original one resurfacing though.

Unless you have a family member who is vulnerable then stop testing. You don't have to test any more and just treat it like a cold/flu like illness. There are so many bugs about just now people just need to be sensible as covid has taught us. If you are poorly with symptoms, stay off work and go back when you feel better.

I have parents who are over 65 and would rather test as it's not just any virus really- there is a much greater risk of long term complications etc. I'm incredibly careful about hygiene etc. but caught it from family both times.

That's interesting! I've just looked it up and apparently there has been at least one confirmed case where someone had two variants of Covid within a month... eugh.

Aw poor you! hope you recovered or are recovering okay. I'm really hoping that I'm just fighting off this second Covid strain but we'll see!

I'm fairly sure I do have it now, I will test in a bit.
