£450 for two nights in a nice log cabin. No hot tub but stargazing and out in the sticks, nice freestanding bath and own little kitchen, smart TV and nice walks nearby.

It seems a lot to me for two nights but I can’t find anything nearly as cheap. It’s adults only too and I am 30 weeks pregnant so if we don’t go in a couple of weeks we won’t get to go :D

Depends how many people it sleeps. If it's for two then, yes, quite pricey. If it's for six, then it's cheap.

I think that sounds a bit pricey. Where is it?

If it's Kielder then it's always on the expensive side but lovely. I've been twice and booked within a month of arriving and paid less than that.

Loopytiles · 01/09/2024 16:16

That wouldn’t appeal to me at that price unless a short drive and / or I wanted to see the scenery. ‘Stargazing’ is weather dependent and the facilities sound average.

Crazykefir · 01/09/2024 18:22

Depends if it's friday and Saturday night sounds about right.

fuffymeloncauli · 01/09/2024 18:28

Sounds nice but the stargazing isn't guaranteed

Rory17384949 · 01/09/2024 18:33

Out of school holidays I would say that's quite steep with no hot tub

orangesandlemonssaythebellsofstclements · 01/09/2024 18:40

Nah. Not going if I don't get a hot tub.

On the pricey side for me. You wont get to look at the stars if its chucking it down !

Sahara123 · 01/09/2024 18:58

I’d pay that not to have a hot tub to be honest, I don’t see the appeal, Always annoys me when I feel I’m paying extra for hot tub I don’t want!

Personally, that is too expensive for me.

We had a long weekend away in a remote part of Wales (back in May). It cost £300 for three nights, in a lovely cottage that slept 6 and had a large wrap around garden filled with flowers. A field, about a 5 minute walk away down a single track lane, featured two
log cabins in a shared field. They were £150 per night (which is in keeping with the price you've said) but they did have a hot tub. I was shocked as it seemed like a lot for very little space.

Cottages definitely seem to be cheaper than those kind of things from past experience... For example, we have a 3 bedroom house booked for next summer which is costing me £750 for a week - that includes two ensuites and a hot tub in the garden, less than 10 minutes from the sea.

Maybe look into a remote cottage (for star gazing) instead - just to compare your options. :)

Pricey when not including hot tub
