To be amazed that people still haven't bought their school uniform?

Kids go back on Tuesday. WhatsApp Group is alive with "argh, I can't find X item" or "where can I get the book bag"?

As if it's been a complete surprise that their child is joining reception and the uniform shops and supermarkets have been closed since June...

Why would you leave it to the last moment?

Not in NI. Would be unusual not to have uniform in 6th form.

I changed schools (in England) for 6th form as my original one only went up to 16. They didn't have a uniform in 6th form and I was disappointed. Then went to university in NI and was a bit jealous of most of the people I met who had all been able to stay in uniform all tje way through school.

All Sixth forms wear uniform here.

And none do here.. Can't imagine the 6th formers being happy about uniform at that age when they could go to college and where what they like
