We have always been out and about sort of people but I am struggling now with nearly 11 year old that soft plays and parks are not exciting anymore 😂
I feel like we only ever really get out and about now when it’s like a full day trip but these can get very pricey.
anyone else having this issue. It’s not a place she can venture out on her own with friends etc.

My 11yo goes out every day

Cheap or free things;

Dog walks
Library
Lunch out
Walks with friends
Walks to the river
Play tennis

More expensive:

Escape rooms
Climbing
Go karting
Shopping

Oh I feel your pain - the park doesn't cut it anymore! I mostly bribe mine with going for coffee and cake. She's into Pokémon so can sometimes tempt her on a Pokémon walk

My 10yo loved going bike rides, walks with the dog, a walk to a cafe (for bubble tea?!)...she also goes to the cinema with her friends or out to lunch and has a few clubs she's involved in

Haha I know I was not prepared for this stage. The summer holidays have cost a fortune. I don’t think it helps that she is not the most physically able !

Do you have libraries, museums and cake shops? These are all good destinations for a walk.

Just a bus trip can be good too.

Or swimming, cycling.

10/11 ish could be quite an awkward age, as they’re just too young to run their own social lives, but can be a bit old to constantly hang out with parents, have “play dates” arranged for them etc.
