To ask about your Invisalign experiences?

I really want to get my teeth whitened but I’m also considering starting Invisalign.

My teeth on the bottom are overcrowded so I think I may need my wisdom teeth removed before I can do so. They aren’t THAT bad though, so I’m not sure Invisalign would be good value.

Can I ask if you’ve had Invisalign, how much it cost and when you had it? Also roughly where in the country you are.

I’d be interested to know if anyone who wasn’t too bad in the first place thinks it was a waste of money.

I had top and bottom Invisalign in 2020 - my teeth weren’t THAT bad but they affected my confidence and they were getting worse over time. My teeth look loads better now - straight but not Hollywood perfect.

It cost £4k in London. The process was fine once I got used to it and I now wear the retainers every 3rd night.

I was about to start a similar thread, so jumping in. I was wondering if anyone had chosen Sparks aligners over Invisalign (I think they might be the same company) or even fixed braces, which don't seem to be any cheaper these days. I've made an initial appointment (which I've had to pay for) and apparently am looking at about 4K (midlands).

I read (online Hmm) it's better to go to an orthodontist than a dentist, which is why I might end up paying more than elsewhere.

I had invisalign, whole thing took roughly two years. I didn't think my teeth were that bad (one particular area annoyed me most) but I was amazed how much better it all looks now. I have a small fixed wire, wear a retainer now at night only and about to start whitening treatment.

I saw an orthodontist and was glad I did as they were very knowledgeable on the best options for even small adjustments to the plan during treatment.

I paid around £4.5k total Surrey area.

I'm currently on week 10 of 71 😣£4.5k in Scotland for a very well qualified orthodontist.

It was my dentist who recommended it as my overcrowded bottom teeth are pushing out and weakening my two front teeth. My teeth were okay so I wasn't that bothered about the cosmetic effect. I don't want to lose my front teeth.

10 weeks in, I'm not sure how long I'll do it for. It's a faff having to take them out to eat and drink - my tea consumption has gone right down! It's quite uncomfortable but I wouldn't say painful. I'm not doing the recommended 23 hours of wearing; my breakfast takes about an hour to eat as I do it while I'm getting ready for work and then dinner is another hour. Usually skip lunch because I'm still full from breakfast. I'm reading online that you have to wear retainers forever once you get to the end of the programme. That was never mentioned!

I think if I was younger I would be more likely to persevere. As it is, I'll keep going for now.
