In the park with 4 year old DD today and she became fascinated with a ladybird which she found near the path. We were standing by the side of the path as DD let the ladybird crawl over her arms and hands. A lady went past with a little kid of a similar age and was looking over, so I said 'we've got a ladybird!' (Not sure why really but I felt the need to explain.) Upon which this woman sort of sniggered and went 'ah..,Chlamydia!' And then just...went on her way.

Having googled, I see that apparently ladybirds carry all sorts of STIs, which they transmit to other ladybirds and not humans. So I guess that's what she meant. But at the time I was like 'What the actual fuck?' 😂 Who even says that to a stranger?!

Aha! Good question. The woman who told her to stop making stupid comments seemed to have won..... Commenting Woman been pretty silent for a couple of months. But yesterday there was another stupid comment along with a link to a stupid facebook meme. (which was what seemed to be the last straw last time).

She was just biding her time I think.....

It is at least logically possible that they could be both. I am aware that you may not agree.

And yet the two women (on Only Fans, iirc) who have self-identified as trans women, are getting a lot of criticism from the trans community.

Is "trans" an identity or just an adjective denoting a change of identity? I suppose they could have identified as male for a week or two then changed back, but even a kind person might wonder about their sincerity.

I’m from Newcastle. I worked in France for a year and one holiday when I came back, I was convinced that everyone was German! Obviously they weren’t. Took me a day to tune back in. To my native accent. Shameful.
