MIL has asked (three times now) if DH will be at the birth of our baby. It annoys DH every time 😂

She is only in her mid 60s so it seems a really unusual thing to keep asking - has anyone ever asked you?

Hmm my brothers and I are born 71 , 73 and 72. No father present anytime

I am the same age as your MIL, I had my first DC in 85, it was normal for dads to be there.

Maybe depends how old your DH is but definitely fathers were routinely attending births in the 1980s.
