About 2 months ago my friend dropped off some car seats here on the way to a date they car seats are still in my flat although I have asked her to grab them she always says well why don’t I come round for a wine and pick them up but when I say I have stopped drinking so is no longer free to collect am I unfair to text to say I’m putting them outside please collect them. For conte t I have two children in a tiny one bed flat and there’s are two big car seats

I don't understand why you not drinking is relevant to her not collect the seats, but then she sounds a bit odd altogether.

Do you drive? You’ve said she doesn’t, so I’m wondering if that is why she wants you to take them to hers.
If you do drive and she lives relatively near, it would make sense for you to drop them to her , if what you want is to get them out of the way soonest.

I may have misunderstood, but as she dropped them off that suggests you borrowed them. Then you should take them to her house to return them. If she did you a favour by lending them to you she shouldn’t have the inconvenience of collecting them

Why? Why does going on a date mean the car seats had to be at your house? Do you drive and did you drive her to the date? Did she lend you the car seats?

I’d take them back to her house now.

This sounds unnecessarily complicated. Surely it would be easier when she suggests dropping in to collect and a drink to say “yes, that sounds great” and then just drink a soft drink when she arrives? What’s she going to do, deliberately leave without her car seats to spite you for not also drinking wine?
