Anyone else sick of hearing this phrase. It's everywhere just now.

It's the new "grim".

I prefer the modern ‘fuck around and find out’. Much more to the point.

Me too.

phoenixrosehere · 25/08/2024 21:08

Heard it as a kid a lot from my parents pointing out people doing stupid things and underestimating the consequences and can’t say they were wrong.

I see it pop up every now and then but nowhere near that it is “everywhere”.

I see it but same with 'it gives me the ick" - literally everywhere 😲

Only see that on MN.

LemongrassLollipop · 25/08/2024 21:11

I only know it from the TS song. Much prefer it to fuck about, find out.

Was it a saying in it's own right before Taylor used it?

Allnewtometoo · 25/08/2024 21:11

I like it. Its not new though which TS song is it in?

itsgettingweird · 25/08/2024 21:25

I really like it.

Alongside my late mums favourite saying to us as kids

"Ask a stupid question......" when we asked a stupid question and got a stupid answer!

fiddleleaffig · 25/08/2024 21:38

It's you and me, there's nothing like this. Miss Americana and The Heartbreak Prince....

Thanks for the ear worm 😉

Scribblydoo · 25/08/2024 21:42

These sayings have been around forever. Scotlands motto is essentially FAFO Nemo me impune lacessit. You could try bringing that back?

Oooh yes, that's like nails on a blackboard for me!

CrossCuntry · 26/08/2024 09:16

I've said this to my children for years. Ds in particular identifies with the saying - as someone who often makes questionable impulsive decisions due to his adhd 🤣
