To want to find my DD a pair of shoes which do not make her look like 'toddler of Barbie?'

I've been to both Clarks and John Lewis this morning to try and find a nice pair of shoes for DD who's nearly 2. Everything, especially in Clarks, was sooo pink. If it wasn't pink it was glittery or had pink flowers stuck to it. They weren't even a nice pale pink just a gawdy yucky pink.

The Clarks website shows a pale blue pair and one with spots but the biggish branch I visited said very few branches will request or be allocated these.

I really like all the colours and styles of the 'first shoes', the blues and beiges with velcro bits but they don't continue up. I don't want her to look like a boy just not to have to wear bright pink shoes with her green or red trousers.
Rant over (It's been a stressful and unproductive morning)

While I am on a shoe thread - my DS1 started walking at 15 months (ie NOT early - pretty average really) and I found hardly any walker shoes in his size - he is a 3.5 and most walkers start at a size 4. Did anyone else have this problem.....?

nappyaddict · 18/04/2008 22:00

nope - we get ds' shoes from startrite and i'd say about half of them started at size 3.

PosieParker · 18/04/2008 22:05

Clarks head office will find you the shoes you want 01458542211, I thought their range in my local shop were quite diverse. Although my daughter is only 18ms with tiny feet.
Startrite are a tad more expensive but very nice.

princessmel · 18/04/2008 22:11

I love super girly pink shoes for dd. But do like the classic styles too.

sophiebbb · 18/04/2008 23:22

My size problem was with Clarks. I was surprised. Start rite it is then....
