Has the internet made Hollywood lose it's magic?

I just wonder now why we worship celebrities so much? Such as newspaper articles making a celebrity seem like a martyr because they used some sort of public transport, usually a train or because Kate Middleton wore the same dress twice.
I think, pre-internet, I can kind of understand how celebrities were "worshipped" as there was almost like a magical feeling about the screen and watching movies.
Now it feels anybody can get famous for anything such as the "huak twah" girl.

I think fair play to rhe 'Hawk Tuah girl' one day she was living a normal life, went for a night out and got interviewed, now she's a millionaire!
Supposedly supports charities with her new found wealth.

i don't think we do worship celebrities as much as we used to.

Part of me is quite glad that the 'shine' has been taken off being a celebrity.

i'm pleased that some famous folk are being held accountable countable for their behaviour eg PR relationships, being associated with brands they've previously criticised etc. underneath the fame, they are just normal people with issues.

Probably because of instagram etc they can communicate with you so people probably feel connected with them. Sadly, reality and fantasy is blurred due to social media

Can’t say I ever have. When you’re with ‘famous’ people up close in person you know that they’re just people. They’re people that are good at a certain thing ie sports or acting or whatever, but they’re still just people who are variously flawed in the ways all of us are.
You realise how well they’re stage managed in certain settings in front of the public to create that certain photo or event evening. But the rest of the time.. they’re just people. They worry about stuff, and stub their toe, and take a shit, and get spinach stuck between their teeth etc. Celebrities aren’t levitating above the rest of us! 😂 And some of them are actually just bloody annoying and you can’t wait to get out of their company - just like other annoying people!! 😆
One of our young recruits said that meeting celebrities is like seeing your school teacher on a weekend - the same person but you’re like “How weird! Mrs Smith, I just didn’t expect to see you in a restaurant drinking wine with a friend on a Saturday night! I thought you’d always be at school marking books or something..” 😂😂

I grew up in the 60s and 70s and back then pop stars and film stars did have a kind of mystique that they now no longer have. You only ever saw them on screen or in carefully posed and shot publicity photos.

It's very easy to ignore celebrity culture.
