Unsure if can bring this into UK?

Tried googling and found really mixed things on the uk gov website , so just wondered if anyone on here knows or can give any advice!
Had the most amazing holiday in an amazing country (outside eu) I was going to bring home some instant coffee (coconut flavour instant cappuccino to be precise) and purchased some but only realised tonight I might not be able to bring it home

on one hand it says instant coffee is allowed because it’s non perishable and it’s not got fresh dairy, on the other hand I’ve found things saying even thinks containing milk powder isn’t allowed and obviously instant coffee/cappucino will have that in it

I don’t want to do the wrong thing or get in trouble, I’d like to bring this home but if I can’t then no big deal.

just wondered if anyone knew about if it was allowed or not?

When flying into the UK do they not have any forms to declare items you are bringing in. If you Decare it they will decide if it is okay or not. People only get into trouble if it's not declared.

Babies powdered milk is ok. So I'm sure it's fine..why not see if the airline has a chat function to ask

Either way you are not going to get in trouble. They will just confiscate it at the border if it's not allowed. You are not smuggling drugs so this is as troublesome as it will get.

We go to France regularly and bring our lunch and left over groceries home often. It hadn't even occurred to me I should declare it.

We usually travel by road/tunnel though

We brought a can of coffee back with us

summerlovingvibes · 22/08/2024 16:16

Yes it's fine. It's a dried substance. Things like this all the time. No issue.

mynameiscalypso · 22/08/2024 16:18

It will be fine. I brought back a load of leftover
food from France at the weekend

How will they know? Just plead ignorance if they stop and search you

Aduvetday · 22/08/2024 16:32

It’s fine.

Chillimuma · 22/08/2024 19:34

Bring back food all the time and hadn’t thought about it. Seriously I wouldn’t worry. It’s only if it’s like fish or octopus or some random plant with roots still attached

AdoraBell · 22/08/2024 19:37

As suggested declare it. It will only be a problem if you don’t declare it.
