If a job position in a primary school is term time only but paid over 12 installements, how would this work?

Is it not just the advertised wage divided by 12? Less tax etc for net?

the salary for example may be earned over 8 months (or whatever term time works out to be), that annual salary is then divided by 12 to give a monthly paid salary. So even though your non term time Is unpaid, you're effectively using your paid time to finance the unpaid. That's how it used to work when I've had a similar role.

Is that what you're asking? I may have misunderstood

So do you have a hourly rate or year salary? Surely you'd just work out the year's salary and divide by 12?

ChessieFL · 21/08/2024 14:03

Let’s say the full year salary for a full timer is £30,000.

If you work term time only you might earn £20,000 (less if you do part time hours as well).

That £20,000 is then divided by 12 and you get paid that each month.

You get paid monthly but the pay amount is for term time only hours.

I’m term time only support staff in school. I work 39 weeks so divide the FT salary by 52 to get your weekly wage. Then multiply by 39 for term time pay plus another 5 weeks for holiday pay. This gives your correct yearly salary so divide that by 12 to give you the monthly wage.
