Does it make sense paying for lash extensions when you wear glasses?

Posting for traffic, soz!

I wear glasses all the time. I don’t have contact lenses so rely solely on my frames as my eyesight is awful. I’ve recently wanted to get lash extensions for the first time but I wonder if it’s a waste of money as I’m a glasses wearer?

I’m sure this sounds like such a silly question😅 but I feel like they won’t be as noticeable as my eyes are hiding behind a frame. I’m being silly aren’t I? I should get them and it’ll be fine

Will they not just bash against your glasses?

Don't know as I am also a glasses wearer who has never had them but if I wear mascara sometimes this marks my glasses from my lashes touching them.

If they're not too dense and quite curled, it can work well.

It's become a bit of a thing to wear glasses halfway down the nose (because of lashes, I guess?), tbh it look ridiculous, and most of the time people end up looking over them or sitting with their neck back to compensate (again, looks weird and mist cause neck ache eventually?!).

Depending on the type of glasses/prescription, increasing the distance between the eye and the lens while alter the effect of the prescription.

I often have a problem with my lashes often brush against my glasses. Extensions would be a nightmare. Don't do it!

I have glasses and can’t tolerate extensions, just go for a lash lift and tint to curl and darken your natural ones.

I have extensions, mostly use contacts. When I wear my glasses they annoy me.

This. You'll find them irritating otherwise.

Thank you guys, I did wonder if they’d annoy the fuck out of me. I’m glad I started this thread! I’ll have a look into a lash lift instead

Yes absolutely you can wear them. A good lash tech will know what will work. I'm a glasses wearer and I occasionally get lashes. I'm actually planning on getting them done again soon.

Yeah, that's called Getting Older. Also compounded by the 'Have you seen the price of varifocal lenses (that still can't accommodate reading, monitor distance, all the way over there and whatever random is standing there talking to you) at Specsavers?' question.

HoppingPavlova · 18/08/2024 12:03

I get them and wear glasses. The beautician carefully trims them to just miss my glasses.

onwardsup4 · 18/08/2024 14:30

You can but have them fairly short. I wear mine for driving and when my lashes are growing out they do brush so just ask for them to not be too long. The lash tech will know this anyway if you're a glasses wearer
