To be creeped out by this?

Today, two “Jesus lovers” / have you heard the good news people from my home country rang at my door. They started talking to me in my native language right away and didn’t knock on any other doors, simply got into the car and left. They obviously knew where I’m from and that I live where I live. This is what I fond creepy.

I was sadly too flustered to ask them on the spot, and I was kicking myself after.

AIBU to be creeped out? Any ideas how they could’ve figured it out to do a “targeted” knock?

I think JW must keep some kind of record of people, I used get a lot of them at my door as I always used to speak for a minute just to be polite but it started to get a bit much when dc2 was born so I asked my usual door knockers to please not come back as I’d had too many JW at my door and it was disturbing my time with DC and I’ve rarely ever had any at my door since then.

My theory is that the local JW hall keeps a record of everyone they’ve spoken to so if they had previously been aware that you were a certain nationality they could have sent out members from that nationality as a ‘targeted approach’. Creepy really!

Yes this is true. I had many come to my door after my second baby was born. My mum had a word with them, and they removed my address from their data base. It worked, because i have none, even when they knock on the neighbours doors.

From where I work in the house, I have often seen two conservatively dressed black women (maybe aged between fifty and sixty) go to my neighbour's house every few months. My neighbour is never there or else doesn't answer her door to them.
I've noticed them because they go to her door and I have waited for them to approach my door except they never have. They literally go to my neighbour's house only and then walk away out of sight.
I've often wondered why too.

@Beautiful3 thank you for that. I didn't realise that.
