I'd like to get my sister a thank you gift. She has been my rock this week and dropped everything to be with me.
She's not a jewellery wearer other than her 'sentimental pieces', not a huge chocolate lover, not a drinker.
I can only think of flowers, but I wanted something to really show how much I'm appreciate her.
Also, because she still has a few bunches still from her wedding anniversary that has just gone.
Please could you share your most treasured thank you gestures 😊

Does she like biscuits?

Biscuiteers

Probably not much help in this case - I helped a friend out with some advice. He and his wife came round and swapped all my lightbulbs for LED bulbs as a thank you.

it might not sound much, but it meant a lot to me, it was much more practical than flowers (I don’t like cut flowers anyway) or chocolate. I still think about it now.

Does she eat out, go to the theatre etc? You'll get very personal responses that might not suit. I like someone treating me to a more-expensive-than-usual meal. A theatre voucher. A bottle of Wray and Nephew rum, or remi martin. My favourite perfume (JPJ Scandal) or Elemis skin care. Then there's B&B/evening meal hotel stays. I've recently gave vouchers for a really nice local desert place. On a smaller scale I've given costa and gregs gift cards. Does she garden? Does she love hot chocolate/hotel chocolate, my DD bought me the velvertiser. Have a good think.

Not much of a biscuit eater, more of a crisp girl!

Awww, how lovely, that's what I was after. A memory that would still be in her mind in years to come.

They don't go out a lot, do a few things more as a family like seeing friends, show together at Christmas.
I have brought her an afternoon cream tea that they both went out and enjoyed.

Maybe I'll see if they have a weekend free and organise a day out for them both to enjoy.

Does she like books? Or does she have little ones you could offer to take off her hands for a couple of hours?

Sleep10 · 17/08/2024 12:46

Absolutely I'll have them in a heartbeat. We both work during the day and weekends is their family time. They enjoy seeing extended family/friends or days together but I will have them anytime I can! 😊
