To think I have less of a chance now?

I had an interview with the manager of a company on Tuesday. I feel like it went really well but there’s still a few more people being interviewed next week. However it’s dawned on me that I was meant to be interviewed by both the manager and assistant manager but she wasn’t in on the day. Now I feel like I have less of a chance because everyone else most likely will meet the assistant manager. Feel quite let down and like surely I have less chance now? AIBU?

No, you have equal chance. Depending on how they feel you'll fit with their team.
Just don't worry. You've done all you can.
I hope you get it. But if not, onwards and upwards. If you don't get offered it it won't be because of who/how many people you were interviewed by.

I would email the manager of the company, thank them for the opportunity to interview, and express that you would very much like to interview with the assistant manager as well if they have the time. Couldn't hurt.

If the manager really likes you, it could play to your advantage. Don't email asking for another interview.

This definitely could hurt. I often interview with another manager, and sometimes only 1 of us interviews. It doesn't lessen anyones chances as we both know what we want and are always matched in our idea of what that candidate looks like. If I then received an email saying can I please interview with you both I'd see that as a red flag that the candidate already has no trust in our decisions or is trying to call the shots before their foot is even in the door.

No don’t do this. You’re basically saying you don’t trust the manager who interviewed you to make a decision, that’s not a good look.

Colleagues that interview together will also be fully capable of interviewing alone and making the same decisions they would if they interviewed together, there’s generally a level of trust between them and they look for the same things. It will not have an impact on the outcome to have only interviewed with one

I would say the opposite, impressing two people is harder than one. Two people to remember faults over one.

Definitely don’t ask for a second interview!
