Is having long blond hair not professional? Had some off/ odd behaviours and comments from colleagues recently e.g from a slightly older women "you'll be fine, one look at you and they'll be putty in your hands" and another volunteer wanting to put photos of me and him on his insta and over-praising my professionalism as if he was surprised.
I dress professionally at times. My colleagues are a mix of older and younger.

Thing is I look shit when I tie my hair back. Should i get it cut? I am 49.
How to navigate the sexism thing?

I'd be very surprised in the third sector if you were considered unprofessional for having long blonde hair, we're usually extremely inclusive with very low tolerance of inappropriate attitudes towards appearance. I work for a charity and have blonde hair to my waist. My CEOs is pink (this week). Volunteers can sometimes get things a little wrong. Particularly if they're volunteering after being out of the workplace for a while, or because they struggle to get into work. Just politely challenge any inappropriate remarks or unwelcome attachments and if that doesn't work have a word with their supervisor.

Having read OPs other threads, it seems she has extreme issues around her attractiveness and appearance.

Counselling might help.

I have a couple of friends like this.

Both suffered csa.

You need help; your self esteem is tied up in how attractive you think men find you.

It's the colour not the length.

I've gone brunette at work to be taken more seriously.

You really do get treated differently

You have a problem if you change your natural hair colour to be taken more seriously at work.

No way in hell would I dye my hair dark, it would look stupid. And no way in hell would people treat me differently at work for it either. 😂
