There are so few v neck dresses - why??

I'm on a desperate hunt for a dress for a hen do this weekend (I've left it too late!)

Everything is bloody high / round neck... which make my massive boobs look like smuggled cushions!

If you're short and dumpy - where are you buying your v neck dresses from please?

Dolly and Dotty do a great variety on the V neck dress - as a dumpy short arse I find their dresses quite flattering. The fake cross over dresses in particular.

I've found H&M and Nobody's Child best this year.

I thought Nobody's child do the classic high round neck or gathered round neck and straight silhouette? Or am I confusing it with Ghost?

Either way as a 34GG/36FF I agree OP that round necks are very unflattering for those of us with big boobs. I made the mistake of buying a Hobbs round neck number a few months ago. My breasts looked like cannonballs. I knew it was a huge mistake when the postman gave me an appreciative looksy. Yuck. I hope the trend dies a death soon.

I find wrap dresses are a sure way to beat round neck, although tricky too sometimes.

Bit late now but I have a couple from muthahood.

V necks are definitely most flattering for the traditionally built woman.

I live in dresses, don't own a pair of trousers, and I do love a V-neck. I get all my dresses from Carolina Dress Room. Their tea dresses and full circle Peggy dresses are mostly v-neck and I find them extremely flattering and comfortable, though most of the prints may be a bit wacky for many people, but that's why I love them! They are generally zip-free, multi-size dresses which I know isn't everyone's cup of tea, but their dresses actually do a great job of fitting the range of sizes promised on the label. I'm very short and a size 8, I buy their dresses in a size small 1 and they fit like a glove, also, they have some stretch in them which is great as I'm pregnant and am finding I can still wear these dresses and they accommodate my growing bump beautifully! I find the skirt lengths fine too. Only online but worth checking out.

@NorthernGirlie does a v neck not show a huge cleavage though??

There's nothing innately awful about a bit of cleavage.

My boobs look far LESS booby in a v neck. In a high neck they look like Hadrian's Wall.

Yes! I can't wait for the trend of floral pattern, puff sleeved, frilly styles to go away. Little House on the Prairie sums it up nicely.

Also boat neck anything, for those of us with big boobs who require scaffolding bras with unsexy straps they are awful.

It's the tiers and/or massive flounce on the end of so many dresses that I can't stand. Many a time I will spot a lovely print, great colour or fabric only to see that on closer inspection it is a befrilled monstrosity.

Have a look at Finery.
