Back numbness/ tingling

For weeks I have been persistently getting this tingly sensation in my upper left back, it started off just once in a while and now I feel it pretty much everytime I put my head down or lean my body slightly forward, 20+ times a day, it's not painful but irritating, sometimes it feels like a tingle like pins and needles other times it feels more like burning.. I have no other problems with my back or pain.. any experience with this here???

I had this after I'd been stuck at home working too many hours at an ill fitting desk... I think it was nerve sensations caused by poor posture... So some sort of nerve impingement, fortunately not bad enough to be agonising like a trapped nerve is, but irritating like you said.

Mine cleared up when my hours reduced and I was able to add in some yoga to my week so I improved my sitting position, moved better and stopped abusing my spine basically.

I started getting something similar about 6 weeks ago, felt like I had trapped a nerve in my right shoulder blade area. GP prescribed me anti-inflammatory pain killers but after a week the tingling/numbness was getting worse and was then affecting my right arm/hand.

Had an x-ray which showed compressed discs, followed by an MRI which showed I have 4 herniated discs and diagnosed with Degenerative Disc Disease and spondyloses.

Now having to have intensive physio and need to have a nerve conducting study and will need disc replacement surgery in the very near future.

I'd go to the GP to get it checked out as anything like the above can result in permanent nerve damage.
