Quadrantanopia anyone? Posting for traffic

My DH was seen by the eye clinic recently to investigate glaucoma.
While there, they said they didn’t see any major issue but he missed some visual field so they would repeat and investigate for quadrantaniopia. When I’ve googled this all I’m reading about are brain tumours and strokes so I’m a bit panicked. Does anyone have any information or experiences of this. Thanks for any help

I have only ever come across it in the context of stroke rehab. Which, I am guessing you would know if your husband had a stroke. Quadranotopia is not a condition, it is a description of a symptom so he very much needs to find a cause. And yes, I am afraid the cause is neurological.
A lot of people may be unaware of having it as they tend to subconsciously compensate. So, if your husband had traumatic brain injury as a child/teen etc, he may have had it for a very long time.
But, reading your post again, it sounds as though quadranotopia has not yet been confirmed. Either way, don't panic until they complete their investigations.

Thanks so much for your reply
Oddly he passed visual field tests a year ago and no strokes or trauma that we can pin point since then.
They are going to repeat the visual field test again and see if he fails it then potentially investigate.
i must admit i feel very worried about this- in clinic the eye doctor said he wasn’t concerned so it was a bit of a shuck to receive this letter

It's completely natural to feel worried, especially after hearing something unfamiliar and then looking it up online—I'd be the same way! It's so easy to spiral when Google throws up the worst-case scenarios. But try to take comfort in the fact that the clinic is being thorough. The repeat tests are a positive step, ensuring that they get a clear understanding of what's going on.
I'd be feeling the same way in your shoes, but remember that there are many different causes, and not all of them are as scary as what we might first think. You're doing everything right by following up with the clinic and staying informed.
Sending you lots of positive thoughts—I'm hoping for the best for your DH. If you ever need to chat or just vent, I’m here! Take care of yourself, too.

Thank you
oddly he has a routine eye test later on for his regular prescription so it will be interesting to see how he gets on
