An eBay one...

So there was something I spotted on eBay and it had bidding or best offer, so noticing no one had bidded on it I gave them an offer of 3 less what the start bid was and they accepted so I paid.

Nearly a week passed and the seller messaged me saying the postage was more and I'll have to either pay the extra £3 or get a refund.

I said I can pay the extra £3 as I want the item

They then proceeded to send me their bank details...

I'm sure you can't do that on eBay... how do I go about this one? I've suggested they send me an offer so my payment goes through eBay rather than the seller directly

I would get them to give you a refund, and ask them to relist with 'buy it now' at the price you offered and with the adjusted postage. I'd also check their feedback.

But, I have made a mistake like this when listing an item (didn't know that Royal Mail has introduced measurements and weight) and had to accept the loss.

They are obviously just trying to get the money for the item they originally wanted. Why would the price changing change the postage cost. I personally would have said no thank you I’ll have a refund. If they have taken it to post and they misjudged the size or weight then they can relist the item and you go through that page. I wouldn’t send money to a bank

Don't bank transfer

Will not be making a bank transfer that's for sure, just seen the seller is now apparently on holiday... great
