To think Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie have had the worst relationship ever

It's quite spectacular the downfall from leading couple in the world to the children changing their names when they turn 18. Divorces happen but the scale of the disintegration is wild. If only Ange was on MN to get advice on red flags. 🚩

Uh, Chris Watts?

It's celebrity pairings though.

I can never get over how normal that guy looked and how normal their lives appeared until he did the unthinkable. He must be crazy but he looked so respectable, like someone we'd be friends with.

Honestly, as time goes on I think that most people who seek out fame and showbiz must be damaged, unwell or plain bonkers.

And very heavy drug-users.

And so calm and mild.

It's the stuff of nightmares.

Wasn't Brad Pitt desperate for kids and then he was interviewed about what one of his kids was doing with school or something and he literally had no clue because he hardly sees them now...

No surprise. He hardly sees them because the relationship with their mother is toxic so why inflict that onto the children. It's better for him never to see them if all it does is reignite the hatred.

Bestyearever2024 · 05/08/2024 07:25

Shannen Docherty's husband delaying divorce to benefit if she died before it went through was worse.

I was reading about this the other day

What am absolute tool he is

Revolting man

Plenty of people on mumsnet seem to have awful marriages too. At least if you’re wealthy you have a big enough house to get away from your DH.

Trixiefirecracker · 05/08/2024 08:12

I mean none of us have any clue what really has gone on between Brad and Angelina. I imagine the truth is somewhere in between what we are hearing, as is usually the case. Neither of them strike me as normal, sane individuals.

Carebearsonmybed · 05/08/2024 08:38

Famous in their day: Ted Hughes, poet laureate and Sylvia Plath, she did do much to help him in his career but he cheated on her when she had 2 small babies, she left then killed herself.

Then the woman he shacked up with killed herself and accidentally their joint child.

The decades later the Hughes/Plath son killed himself.

Meredusoleil · 05/08/2024 09:17

Just to counteract with some positives:

Catherine Zeta-Jones and Micheal Douglas still going strong I believe, despite the 25 year age gap

Amal and George Clooney are another stable looking couple.

EachandEveryone · 05/08/2024 09:24

Yes there’s a threat about that and the list is thankfully getting longer

Gosh I'm going to get down that rabbit hole later!

I was thinking of Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton from previous gens.

HappyLittleNarwhal · 05/08/2024 10:40

I don't understand any of it but they do seem to have been getting divorced for far longer than they were actually married.

Just everyone move on. You're all loaded.

Carebearsonmybed · 05/08/2024 11:30

Chris Pratt and Anna Faris was nasty.

Their son was born prematurely and ill.

He left, had a baby with someone else then tweeted about how great it was that his new baby was 'healthy'.

Not married but Matt Damon dumping Minnie Driver on tv was cruel.

Heather Mills throwing water over Paul McCartneys divorce lawyer was probably one of the most civilised bits of their divorce. Apparently he got the uk media to hide details of her past whilst they were together then let it all come out when they split.

The Geldof/Yates divorce ended up with the deaths of 3 people. All a big sad mess.

This has turned out to be a depressing thread. Sorry. Such awful behaviours.

I think Woody Allen is the worst overall in my book. Forgot about him. Wee charmer that he is.

It was odd to me how everything seemed to be going swimmingly for years and then fell apart when Brad and Angelina actually got married.

This often seems to happen with non- celebrities too. My theory is that the cracks have already started to appear and people think getting married will help. And it doesn't.

Having thought about it more I think your theory is pretty accurate.

I'm not so sure that Shura's death was "accidental" actually. It was hideous all round.

The most depressing bit is the number of women rushing to excuse Pitt.

Jolie can’t move on because Pitt keeps suing her.

Like a classic abuser refusing to give up control and let her live her life away from him.

Firefly1987 · 05/08/2024 22:15

He's got a 34 year old gf apparently and not averse to having kids with her, despite the fact most of the kids he already has are NC with him. Nothing like just starting again with a new family at 60 is there 🙄

EachandEveryone · 05/08/2024 23:12

I wonder what Jen thinks of it all?

Lucky escape? Though you do suspect he was her one and she's never gotten over it

Now I've read up on Ted Hughes, I'm thinking he was one nasty sod.

Why has Brad not been cancelled like Johnny Depp almost has?
I do think Johnny was abusive BTW. Love that people thought he wasn't just because he wasn't to Kate Moss and Vanessa.
