To think this is great but can't be right (Premium Bonds )

We were left some money and so bought £5,000 in Premium Bonds last September. We had nearly £1,000 already so total was just under £6,000.

So, in the last year we have won a total of £1,925 (inc this August) which is a % return of about 30%.

It's amazing, obviously, but can't be normal can it? 😂

My DN has £960 in his bonds and £250 of that is winnings. His brother has £715 and won nothing. I've got £1250 and £100 of that is winnings. This is over about 12-18 months. So great for two of us, not for one.

I've won £1000 on a £300 investment before. Encouraged by that success I invested more but haven't won since. But I live in hope.

I was given premium bonds when I was born. Almost 53yrs later and not a single win 😆

You lucky bean! I’ve not won anything yet. It’s beginning to be a waste of time. I’m going to give it til Christmas and then stop investing in it. Leave it stagnant.

We both hold maximum investments and have for about 3 years, almost every month we both win £200-300. Last year we won £100k. I am generally very lucky :-)

When I had about 10k in i often used to win between £25 and £75 every month. Now I've got 4K in and haven't won anything for months.
