To find friend/colleague irritating

I'm not sure I'm the only one as I heard some other people saying she was 'too much'. Obviously it's not nice to be discussing her like that in an office environment but it makes me think i'm not alone.

She likes to complain which is fine as most of us do. However I'll then say something like 'Speak to the manager' , and she'll say 'Hahahah, oh you're funny!' 'Oh, please!' 'Aww, bless you!'

I find it a little patronising and annoying, I'm not sure what she wants me to say ?
She seems to have a short fuse which, again nobody's perfect by any means but she will rant and rant on teams about things she's 'fuming' over, and then when I try to share anything she'll just say 'nope'.
'Absolutely not'. 'No way'.

Like she was angry because work asked her to provide something she doesn't have. I said, just tell them you don't have it. But apparently that's simply not possible.

English isn't her first language so not sure if this has an impact at all but I'm not sure what to do, other than just let it go over my head?

I think not engaging is probably the best way forward.
She doesn't want to help herself, so there's not much you can do.
That said, I fully get the need for the odd rant! But the cycle of negativity is draining and counterproductive when it's constant.

Thank you! It's also the constant messaging on teams/WhatsApp. She sent me 29 WhatsApp messages in a row once!

I just reply when I am ready to, I do like talking to her but it is just incredibly intense.

Oh crikey, so it's not only in-person rants while at work?
She does sound like a lot!
It sounds like she has designated you as her work confidante/friend. I would just continue as you are, while taking more and more steps back!

I would just say "oh well, I've suggested how to help but you dont want to do it" then ignore.

I cant stand people who moan constantly about the same things but refuse to do anything about it.

She sounds incredibly annoying!
