To see GP about possible autism or wait until she's older?

Hi all,

Would you take your 22 month old to GP if they were showing these traits or are they completely normal?

(I’ve been making a list since I’ve noticed them as my 3 year old is on the ASD pathway)

Rocking back and forth
Hand flapping
Doesn’t follow instruction
Doesn’t like to be cuddled
Repeats words a lot - Echolalia
Walks around with her eyes closed
Shakes her head back and fourth
Gets upset at loud sounds
Doesn’t smile back
Not consistently responding to name
Not looking when pointing at something?
She walks around in a circle a lot, falls over a lot.
Didn’t do anything until she was over one years old, she couldn’t sit, couldn’t speak, couldn’t feed herself etc possible early regression.
Over familiar with strangers, no stranger fear - would literally leave with anyone.
Arches her back a lot
(This might just be normal) Doesn’t sleep - wakes numerous times a night in hysterics.
Lines objects up in a row.

I’m going to keep adding to it but wasn’t sure if I should see a GP or whether it's best to wait until she's older so thought I'd ask here.

Sorry for asking on Aibu but I don't get answers on SN chat.

I think if you have concerns and evidence, the earlier the better. Also if you haven't already get the EHCP process started for your 3yo. School rolls around very quickly!

Assessment can be a long road so go now. I would also ask for a referral for a hearing test.

It may be worth raising it. Even if they just say to keep watching and noting.

That you have experience of another child will hopefully mean they don't brush you off.

Thank you.

We're in the process of a EHCP for my three year old as he also has a rare genetic condition as well as being on the pathway because as you say he'll be at school next year. It's come around so quickly.

theres the waiting list for assessment anyway *around 4 years here. Might as well get started

I think it's definitely worth raising especially as your oldest is on the pathway, there are lots of possible signs there you've spotted.
